Service Schedule News & Upcoming Events

Special Services

Sunday, September 19, 10:00 am - Rally Day! - Rally Day is the Sunday we mourn the he end of the summer and celebrate the beginning of a new season. We'll do that in two ways: First, a combined service featuring the labyrinth, then we'll move to the other side of the property for a cookout.

Sunday, October 10 - St. Francis Day with blessing of the animals at both services.

Regular Weekly Schedule

Kids' Church -- Sunday 9:15 am. No experience necessary. Bring your questions to this warm and inviting interactive service for children and their families. Songs, stories, birthday blessings, multimedia stuff, Redeemer’s famous donut holes and prayers create a circle of care in the midst of an often baffling world. Many Sundays also bring a new Godly Play story.

What's Godly Play? It's is a Montessori based way of teaching Bible and liturgical stories to our kids, and much more! The schedule of upcoming stories is here, and see more about Godly Play in the next column, under News and Events.

Eucharist, Rite II-- Sunday 10:30 am. A more familiar and very comfortable service for God's people of all ages. Come and learn something and make a bunch of new friends.

Prayers for healing are offered at both Sunday morning services.

Tuesday, September 14, 10:30 am - Adult Ed resumes after a long hiatus. Joseph will bring something for this first session and we'll decide together how to proceed.

Check out the Bible readings for the upcoming Sunday Service (9/5) here.

Anglican, National & Diocesan Stuff

Lambeth Palace It's warming up in Anglicanland again. The Archbishop of Canterbury's Pentecost Letter suggests that those Provinces that allow gay bishops should be sanctioned. Our Presiding Bishop counters, in a nice way, that the draughts of colonialism appear to be blowing through Lambeth Palace. Our own Bishop Marc is blunter. The always thoughtful remarks of Mark Harris are here and here, or try Diana Butler Bass on this Anglican Smackdown.

The implementation of the Pentecost Letter has started with this action by the Secretary General of the Communion.

A Canterbury Tale. Jane Kramer and The New Yorker on the battle within the Church of England to allow women to be bishops.

Diocal LogoRedeemer supports Area Ministry. Ask us what that means. Or check out the Diocese's explanation or Formation Resources.

News & Events

Unless noted, all church programs are free of charge and without obligation.

Sunday, September 12, 6:00 pm - Redeemer's youth will gather at the church (then again on October 3 and, generally speaking, on the first Sunday evening of every month).

The Redeemer LabyrinthLabyrinth News: We think it's beautiful. Everybody should come over, stare at it a while, and then start walking it. More pix here.

Godly Play is a Montessori based way of teaching Bible and liturgical stories to our kids, and much more! As we work with telling Godly Play stories in our services we have discovered it can be as meaningful for parents as for their children - read about some of what we've learned here and here. We also answer the important question, "Why is Godly Play Sloooow?"

New sermons are on the Sermons page. That makes sense.

And my goodness, the September Redeemer Review, our great newsletter, is online, too-- right here.

More Redeemer Events and Stuff

Maundy Thursday PowerPoint Prayers. Our youth wrote their prayers on the last night of our Lenten series Searching for God in the Rubble of Haiti. The resulting Powerpoint was projected during the Prayers of the People on Maundy Thursday with congregants reading different slides out loud and then culminating with everyone singing the hymn. Enormously powerful, these are the slides in pdf format. (1.8 Megs.)

Bishop's Committee usually meets on the second Monday of the month at 7:00 pm. It's open to all, so feel free to check it out. BC typically meets at the senior warden's home, so please call for information.

Volunteers are also needed at The Food Bank (Call 883-1302 Mondays and Wednesdays, 1:00 to 4:00) and at Suicide Prevention. Call 499-1193 ext 3002 to register for Training classes. Flyers are at the back of the church.

Interested in social justice activities springing from solidily Episcopalian roots? You'll find this brochure from Episcopal Network for Economic Justice invaluable. Hey! Read it and start something!
